Short hair again

I cut my hair short again, such a relief! I was getting really tired of styling the long hair.

The amazing dress is from Vivien of Holloway. It makes me feel like a girl from a vintage Frederick’s of Hollywood ad :)

Aaah you look so perfect! You’re like an surreal apparition of the 50s!

I prefer you with short hair, you look younger and more sophisticated!.. :)

Hi! You are amazing! I know you probably hate this question… but how go you make your hair???? I always wanted to have hair like that… but no hair dresser want to do it for me… help help help! All the best, Natalia www.nataliakostrzewa.com

you look fabulous! it really suits you :)

You are proof short hair fits round face shapes! You’ve inspired me to go short - you look fabulous!! As always xx

Johanna.
I love your work. It’s amazing. Thanks

You are breathtaking!

Thank you very much everyone!

betty lou: Det är ungefär lika kort när det inte är lockat. Lite längre på toppen och luggen än på sidorna.

Natalia Kostrzewa: Do you mean like in these photos? Well I cut my hair very short, set it with pin curls and then just combed it out and teased it a bit to shape it.

Hur gott som helst :D !

Wow, stunning! Loving your style, fantastic!

amazing! you look soooo good with the short hair, reminds me a little bit of marilyn ;-D

Johanna….I was wondering if you would take a picture of your hair set in pin curls; so I might see exactly how to do it. Are your pin curls standing up or flat against your head?? Thank you so much. You are rocking that haircut.

I have these photos:

Both with no particular setting pattern. The curls in the fringe area tend to be e bit more standing up but sometimes they’re all flat against my head. I haven’t noticed much difference with that.

You are a STUNNER! I am a fan of yours from flickr but just now stumbled upon your blog. I’m sure you get this a lot, but do you ever make up hair tutorials? I have short hair and I would be in heaven if I could make this mess behave anything remotely like yours.

Thank you very much!

I’m afraid I wouldn’t know what to say in a tutorial. I just don’t do anything special, just curl my hair and then shape it until it looks the way I want it.

Thank you so much for the sneak peak at your “set”, Johanna. It helps alot :) Tell me………do you do the pin curl set every day??

You’re welcome!

Oh no not at all, I set my hair about once a week after I wash it and then it looks fine until next time.

Hi! Just one more question… How long is your hair? Do you have a photo with no curls? Im planing to cut my hair so I can make it look (hopefully) like yours ;-P

Thank you so much for answering all those questions!!!

All the best,
Natalia Kostrzewa

It really looks just about the same length without curls, I don’t wear it like that at all though, just when it’s wet. It’s definitely not a cut suited for straight hair. It’s just cut in the same length all over my head, maybe about four inches, and slightly longer in the fringe area.

gosh, i love your hair this way and i absolutly adore the dress .
Really you look good in every hairstyle.
i have a question, how do you get such perfect skin?
can you tell some beautytips for the skin?
thank you so much . love

Thank you! Actually I don’t do anything to my skin, I just wash my face in the morning and evening and put on a moisturiser after. I don’t use foundation or powder or any skin covering makeup like that and I don’t smoke or anything, but I don’t know how much that matters.

thank you for answering . your skin really shines.
i really love your blog !
everyday i’m curious for your next post . love

Du er bare så smuk, jeg ville ønske alle kvinder kopierede dig

Hello Johanna. I have been following your blog and posts from fedora lounge. I love your short hair. You know it is such coincidence (dont know if it is, I am in the arts field as well :D, ), we have kind of the same face shape, (except that I am asian) and my hair was the exact same length as yours. I was growing it out from chin length. Then 2 mths ago I coundnt resist chopping it off to the same length as yours right now. And then 1 mth later, after it has grown out one whole inch, which is a few days a go, I chopped off more to a shorter pixie.
About this length; http://i.ehow.com/images/GlobalPhoto/Articles/519…

I must say, I dont know how I had beared with all that hair- it couldnt take curls well. I followed your method of setting but it turned out pretty straight at the top.. I got tired of rolling so much hair all the time. So i decided to chop it off. It is just impossible to create anything different with the length.

Contrary to most, i find that long hair do not work that well for me (round face). After my stylist trimmed my hair to the short pixie, SHE absolutely loved it. Said that this hairstyle suits me so much. I mean, at the point of time, I only cared about how nice it felt to have all the stray hairs chopped off. I keep destroying my hair by perming. I dont know if you had to perm your hair to take the curls, but my hair is poker straight, thick and dense (contrary to popular beliefs, not all asians have hair of this type, I am the only one I know who has such hair.) After the trim, the curls had been chopped off, Im thinking of perming it again to make the texture look interesting, but man, ive had fried hair for so long !

Haha, sorry I seem to keep going on and on about hair, but Ive got so much to say because I keep changing my hairstyle to achieve a certain vintage style. Im curious, but how tall are you??

Also, I read somewhere that you cut your own hair, how do you do it?!! wish i could cut my own, that way I could control how much i want to cut and get exactly what I want. Did you cut it on your own this time? I you did, I must say you can consider a sideline, opening a vintage style salon! You look so much like Monroe. You make me wish I could do a platinum blonde and pull it off! Of course, that would make me look ridiculous with dark eyes and asian features. :D

I haven’t measured myself in a couple of years but when I last did I was 159 cm which according to google is 5,2 feet.

thanks for replying Johanna :) Im the exact same height as you… ( I hope I dont start to sound like a stalker, i really do apreciate your art and style )

I think the short hair suites you perfectly. Love your blog, keep up the good work
