What an amazing dress! You did a wonderful job - and so so perfect for summer. I love these shots too… they are like film stills - totally glamorous.

I can’t believe you didn’t even use a pattern, I’d be completely lost without one! But you’ve reminded me how much I need to get started on my summer wardrobe.

den var helt perfekt!!!

You look lovely, that hat is the perfect finishing touch, is it vintage?
I would love to see some posts on here about the actual construction of some of your garments if you ever have the time. For example where would you even beging to make a dress like this without a pattern?

So cute! Yellow really is a very pretty colour in a summer dress!

Thank you! :)
Vicky: Yes it’s vintage. I’ve had it for a long time but it’s so formal looking that I’ve pretty much never worn it out and about. When I work without a pattern my construction is pretty much a mess! Lots of refitting and often some irritation. I really know nothing about sewing and I just make stuff up as I go along. I’ve just recently started using patterns for some reason and it’s such a relief! Everything just fits together and is so quick :)
Vicky
You should so wear that hat out even if it is formal as it looks fab! I really wish more people wore hats regularly, I might try and start a hat revolution :-)
I studied fashion at college but still don’t have the confidence to make garments without using or drafting patterns but think maybe I should just give it a go. In these pictures you remind me of Lee Remick’s character in the film Long Hot Summer excpet you have blonde hair, so maybe you are a cross between her and Joanna Woodwards character :-D Anyway what I meant to say was you wouldn’t look out of place in this film going by how you look in these pictures.

Thank you! I was actually reading about that film yesterday. I haven’t seen it yet though!

Getting the right dress usually starts with shopping intelligently. To shop intelligently doesn’t mean simply shopping for price. It has to do with being able to tell quality from not, whether in the workmanship of your formal dresses, or in the richness of their fabric.
