We went to Paris mostly to visit Disneyland, but we thought that since we’re in Paris anyway we should put in another day for some shopping and nothing in particular. We quickly realised though, that without anything special planned, we don’t really like Paris, and ended up spending most of the day reading and watching tv in our hotel room.
We did go to Ladurée for a few macarons and to top up our Ladurée tea stash. I find the macarons more fun than actually delicious, but Ladurée makes the best teas I’ve had. I recommend Marie Antoinette (my favourite), Melange Ladurée and their Earl Grey.
I wore the yellow dress I made, with matching turquoise purse and brooch.

Would have loved to see you dress up in your period costumes and take photos around some of the historic points of Paris. Maybe next time? Love your dress. Happy and safe travels!

You are a perfect picture here. I can’t believe you don’t like Paris! I have only been a few times, but I loved all the art and the buzz of the streets!

I am a french woman and I do not like Paris too. Everything is too expensive, it rains and the gardens are ugly. Maybe you should visit the castles of the Loire. It’s like a fairytale.
Kisses.

Du ser strålande ut! Verkligen!!! Vad synd att ni inte gillar Paris.. fast jag kan förstå vad du menar. Jag älskar Paris, men bara vissa delar av staden!

Chelsea Rose: I think that would be a lot of work, not to mention all the luggage being taken up by the big clothes. But maybe someday I’ll attend the “Journée Grand Siècle” at Vaux le Vicomte, a costume event at the palace that inspired Versailles. Unfortunately no costumes are allowed at Versailles.
I’m not sure exactly what makes me not like Paris, but everything just feels grey and everyone smokes everywhere (=massive headaches for me). I guess I just don’t get it. Also, compared to Stockholm most other cities I’ve visited appear dirty, unorganised and less beautiful.
I’m sure Loire is much nicer!
Thanks everyone!
