Ryan Heshka is one of my favourite contemporary artists. I love his heavily pulp inspired, action filled paintings with beautiful bright colours. I kind of wish the ladies he paints were available as dolls.

I love these giant monster women, especially the webbed chartreuse one.

I’ve never realised how similar this is to my Swamp girls until I put this post together. Both the look of the girls and the spanish moss stuff. Maybe it was subconsciously on my mind (though of course I’ve been painting webbed, green, black haired girls since long before I discovered Ryan).

I love this one! Green girls are forever my favourites.

Probably my all time favourite by Ryan Heshka. It has so many of my favourite motifs: cross sections, crystals, pretty girls, science fiction, mysterious goings on. It reminds me a lot of my favourite picture from the children’s book The Gallavants.
