We’re having absolutely beautiful winter weather here and I love it, but I’m starting to feel a bit uninspired about dressing for winter. I’m beginning to long for colorful summer clothes that you don’t have to cover up with big coats, like in these photos from the LIFE archive!
They were taken by Peter Stackpole in 1940, and are labeled “Cruise wear fashions”.

Yes I’m the same, I can’t wait for summer! I have no clue what will be in fashion for summer though, I have not looked it up yet. I’m looking for a vintage bathing suite for sometime soon but they are very expansive, near 200 dollars here, the reproductions. I actually found a store that sells them. I also found a store of patterened tights that;s really good but really expansive.

De här bilderna är ju hur som det ultimata beviset på varför jag gillar 1940-talets mode så mycket; det är personligt, galet och detaljerat med massor av mönster och extravaganta former. Så himla bra!!

Miriam: Haha det är bara för att jag är så överdrivet metodisk och ihärdig när jag letar bilder! Tipset: Om man hittar någon bild man gillar så kan man söka på fotografens namn, då finns det ofta en massa fint från samma tidsperiod.
