Antiques fair outfit

We went to the Stockholm Antiques Fair today and my outfit was very Cover Girl inspired!

I wore a hat I made, a suit (80s does 40s) I got as a gift from an acquaintance a long time ago, a blouse from Etsy, a pair of gloves I got at last years antiques fair, and a brooch I inherited from my grandmother.

I made the hat with fake “persian” using an idea from a 1940s magazine, saying how you can gather black fabric onto another fabric in little bubbles to make it look like persian fur. It was very time consuming, but the result really looks a lot like fur.

The black fabric I used was a leftover from altering the fit of a 40s dress. I hate throwing old fabric away when it’s necessary to cut away some, so I always try to think of some use for it.

I got the wings from this Etsy shop.

And finally, my finds from the antiques fair. Wonderful ad sign, a little brooch and best of all, perfect 40s platforms for 250 SEK!
