Folk inspired autumn outfit

As I said in the autumn inspiration post, I’m particularly inspired by European folk influences this autumn. This outfit has influences from Swedish folk costumes but the suspender skirt has a bit of a German look.

By the way, new hair!

My mother made this shirt for herself in the 70s. It looks a lot like the shirts worn with Swedish folk costumes. The skirt is from Vivien of Holloway.

I found the belt at a flea market this summer and it looks exactly like the pockets or purses worn with the Malungsdräkt, so of course I had to buy it. Check out my pocket here. I’m also wearing really excellent thick stockings from Sockdreams.

This is the silver brooch for my Malungsdräkt, the folk costume of my home town. Similar brooches are worn with many different Swedish folk costumes. I’m also wearing a silver ring that goes with my Malungsdräkt, but I forgot to take a close up of it.
