New York, day one

We’re back home from New York!

We’re at my parents’ house over Christmas and I only had time to upload photos from day one before we left again, so the rest will be coming after Christmas.

When I went through the photos I realised Henrik had taken all of them, so he wasn’t in a single photo himself. I didn’t bring a camera of my own since he has this new fancy one that’s a hundred times better anyway, and I didn’t think of borrowing it. I feel kind of bad about that!

Anyway, we had a great time even though my feet hurt like crazy from all the walking. Here are the photos from the night we arrived, and our first full day in New York.

Landing in New York. The view from the plane was beautiful.

Having pizza in the hotel room. Our hotel, Room Mate Grace, was really great and we loved our room which had a bunk bed and these platforms around the beds that made you want to climb around.

We went to check out Grand Central Terminal.

And the New York Public Library.

I wore my new suit.

Standing across the street from the Empire State building. I loved all the art deco architecture everywhere.

At Macy’s. I loved their Christmas window displays. I also loved the displays at Tiffany, Van Cleef and Arpels and Bergdorf Goodman.

I ended up buying a great pyjama, which I really needed. My sleepwear and lingerie is severely lacking.

The weather was really nice this day.

We looked at the Flatiron building.

I bought this Christmas brooch especially for the trip so I could be extra Christmassy.

We went for a guided tour about the architecture and art of Rockefeller center. I changed to a slightly warmer coat for the night.

After the tour we went up to Top of the Rock to see the amazing view, which looked totally unreal.

We went through Times Square on the way back to the hotel.

That’s all for the first day!
