Hennes lilla majestät

In my quest to watch more old Swedish movies I recently watched Hennes lilla majestät (Her Little Majesty) from 1939. It’s a romantic comedy starring Anders Henrikson and a wonderful Sonja Wigert.

Sonja Wigert is Miss Hauge, a rich and spoiled Norwegian party girl whose car crashes on her way to a Stockholm wedding, and she’s stuck with a broken car and a sprained foot in a country vicarage. Although they initially don’t like each other, the priest and Miss Hauge eventually fall in love, and things happen.

It’s not the best movie ever but it’s pretty cute and Sonja Wigert’s character Miss Hauge is the highlight of the movie. She also has a terrific wardrobe, which you will see in my screencaps!

I wonder what the heart thing she’s holding in this scene is. It looks like a key ring and she takes it out of her purse at the same time as her cigarette.

This is my favourite outfit in the movie, but you will see more of it in a later scene.

My other favourite outfit. I love the playsuit and I really want one of those fishnet scarves, I’ve seen similar ones before.

I love the monogram! I’m planning a similar one for a shirt I’m sewing.

Extra with nice dress.

This beautiful gown is always in motion so it was hard to screencap.
