Lucite shoes and lucite purses!

In my giant picture collection Jayne Mansfield is definitely the most frequent wearer of lucite shoes. This is one of my favourite Jayne photos. I love the yellow swimsuit (and of course the shoes) and she looks just beautiful. Source: Dr. Macro.

Another great picture of Jayne with lots of animal print.

Super cute with husband Mickey Hargitay.

Elizabeth Taylor on the other hand is definitely the most frequent carrier of lucite purses. Lucite purses also seem a lot less common in movie star photos than lucite shoes, but Elizabeth seems to have had an array of different ones.

Beautiful.

Such a great outfit, I wish coats like these weren’t always out of my budget. With husband Michael Wilding.

Marilyn wears only one pair of lucite shoes (also mentioned in the 40s shoes post), but they’re the most spectacular ones, and she wears them a lot.

Marilyn also carries a lucite purse in Niagara, most notably in the climactic clock tower scene. The two following Marilyn pictures are from the movie.

I love this outfit and want a wrap around skirt like that.

Pin up girls and burlesque dancers like Rosita Royce often wore lucite shoes.
